The mysterious amalgamation of past and present ingrained in visual reality of Kolkata was very meticulously represented in these photographs. Another important event was launch of a book ‘Art Now A Glimpse: Collectors series I’ at Emami Chisel Art containing paintings of ten artists. A show of their works was also held from 23 April to 7 May. The artists included were Partha Pratim Deb, Tapas Konar, Aditya Basak, Jayashree Chakravarty, Sekhar Roy, Amitabha Dhar, Chandra Bhattacharya, Chhatrapati Dutta, Sunil De and Samindranath Majumdar. A sculpture show of Manjushri Chakraborty and Some Kumar Deb at Academy of Fine Arts from 1 to 7 needs to be mentioned. The ceramics of Manjushri were really exciting. Recent works of Prasun Roy were presented at Mon till 10. Weavers Studio hosted a show of Paresh Hazra titled ‘Medini Matir Kanna’ till 11. Pranabranjan Roy curated a show at Gallery Kolkata on the theme ‘Images of One’s Self’.
